Reaksi di dalam pemutih terjadi dalam kondisi vakum tinggi dan suhu tinggi. Minyak dipompa ke dalam pemutih melalui penukar panas regeneratif. Tanah pemutih dimasukkan ke dalam pemutih dan diaduk secara intensif selama jangka waktu tertentu.<\/p><p>Setelah proses pemutihan, minyak dipompa ke dalam filter tekanan vertikal, tempat tanah pemutih tertahan dan kemudian dikeringkan. Filter tekanan kemudian melepaskan minyak yang telah diputihkan, dan tanah pemutih jatuh pada interval dan dapat diotomatisasi sepenuhnya sehingga mengurangi manipulasi operator.<br \/>Waktu regenerasi antara siklus penyaringan pendek yang mengurangi waktu henti.<br \/>Filter daun bertekanan itu sendiri tidak memiliki bagian yang berputar, sehingga perawatannya pun minimal sehingga menghasilkan biaya perawatan yang lebih rendah.<br \/>Ada dua jenis utama filter daun bertekanan: filter daun mekanisme yang melibatkan berbagai interaksi fisik dan kimia; sebagian besar mekanisme tersebut meningkatkan kualitas minyak, tetapi beberapa di antaranya dapat menurunkannya. Mekanisme-mekanisme ini meliputi:<\/p><p>Adsorpsi \u2500 mekanisme di mana sorben mengikat kontaminan. Hal ini dapat terjadi melalui tiga cara berbeda:<\/p><p>Secara fisik melalui daya tarik permukaan yang melibatkan gaya van der Waals.<br \/>Secara kimiawi melalui \u201cchemisorption\u201d melalui ikatan elektrokimia pada permukaan tanah liat.<br \/>Dengan saringan molekuler yang menjebak kontaminan di bawah tekanan di dalam pori-pori tanah liat selama penyaringan.<\/p><p>Penyerapan \u2500 mekanisme pengisian pori-pori intra-granular dengan cairan\u2014terutama minyak\u2014dan selanjutnya kontaminan apa pun yang menyertainya. Retensi minyak dilaporkan dalam dua cara: sebagai penurunan berat badan melalui ekstraksi Soxhlet (dengan heksana sebagai pelarut), dan sebagai total bahan organik yang ditentukan dengan pengabuan.<\/p><p>Total retensi minyak bergantung pada sejumlah variabel, termasuk tingkat dosis lempung, karakteristik lempung (misalnya, distribusi ukuran partikel dan jenis mineral), permeabilitas lapisan filter, kualitas bahan baku yang masuk, kebersihan saringan filter, dan kondisi yang digunakan untuk membersihkan filter sebelum membuang kerak filter &quot;bekas&quot;. Retensi minyak yang berlebihan meningkatkan biaya operasional proses; kehilangan minyak melalui tanah bekas biasanya dapat mencapai 35 persen berat yang dapat diekstraksi pelarut dan 50 persen berat total bahan organik dari tanah yang digunakan.<\/p><p>Filtrasi \u2500 mekanisme penjebakan atau penghilangan kontaminan tersuspensi secara fisik: tindakan fisik penyaringan tanah liat tersuspensi yang sekaligus menghilangkan kontaminan minor yang teradsorpsi pada partikel tanah liat. Filter yang digunakan dalam proses pemutihan meliputi filter daun bertekanan vertikal, atau filter daun bertekanan horizontal, dan filter pemoles (kantong, kartrid, kertas).<\/p><p>Katalisis \u2500 mekanisme degradasi kontaminan melalui interaksi dengan permukaan lempung. Misalnya, peroksida secara efektif direduksi (dipolimerisasi dan\/atau didekomposisi menjadi produk sampingan oksidasi yang mudah menguap) oleh interaksi lempung\/minyak. Dengan panas dan oksidasi yang berlebihan, pigmen dapat membentuk senyawa warna yang sulit dihilangkan atau disebut &quot;terfiksasi&quot;. Dalam fiksasi warna, warna merah lebih sulit dihilangkan hanya dengan pemutihan lempung dan tahan terhadap degradasi termal, sehingga menghasilkan warna merah yang lebih pekat setelah penghilangan
